Cheating case to be registered against two union ministers

Hyderabad: Giving assurances by ministers and political leaders and not fulfilling them would cost them heavily now. The Metropolitan Magistrate of Ranga Reddy district UD Durga Prasad on Monday ordered the LB Nagar police to probe the allegations and register a cheating case under section 420 of IPC against Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and his predecessor P. Chidambaram for making statements on the statehood of Telengana and then back tracking from their statements.

Prasad who entertained an application of a local advocate Naresh Kumar in which he alleged that the Union Home Minister S K Shinde assured at an all party meeting in November 28 last year that central government would announce its decision on Telengana state within a month but after a month now back tracked from its promise and wanted some more time in this regard.

Kumar urged the court to direct the Cyberabad Police to register a case of cheating against Shinde and also a case should be booked against now Union Finance Minister P Chidambram who as a Home Minister in 2009 promised to give a statehood status to Telengana.

Naresh Kumar pointed out that people of Telengana were cheated twice and a criminal case against both ministers should be booked.

Telengana movement for a separate statehood has been intensified from today again with Telengana Rashtria Samithi (TRS) and Telengana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) staging a Dharna at Indira Park . TRS Cheif K Chandrashekar Rao, TJAC Convener, Prof Kodanda Ram and others spoke to thousands of his supporters.

They accused the Congress government at center for betrayal of aspirations of people who want a separate state. “We will not rest until we achieve our goal, a separate Telengana state,” Chandraskhekar declared.

Cyberabad police officials said they haven’t received a copy of orders yet from the court but certainly will take action after seeking legal opinion to take action and taking legal opinion. .
