New Delhi: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, while strongly condemning desecration of Holy Qura’n and blind firing by BSF on people in Gool Daram in Kashmir, expressed “deep pain and sorrow” at the civilian killings. JUH general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani demanded that the centre and state government should take immediate steps to arrest the culprits who used excessive forces which killed six people and wounded many.

‘’Current wave of atrocities on Kashmiri youths has posed threat to the efforts being carried out for restoration of peace in the region and greatly shocked JUH and other peace aspiring institutions as once again peace process has collapsed and mayhem and turmoil has stretched on this heaven land,’’ added Maulana Madani.

Maulana Madani stressed to instil in the security establishment that Kashmir and Kashmiris all form the parts of India: the two is equally important. He expressed concern that in our country, from top to lower rung leaders of a few political parties, top government officials and security chiefs show through their attitudes that India only needs the land of Kashmir and not Kashmiri.

Terming this attitude detrimental to security and unity of the country, Maulana Madani said we can not gain anything worth out of this. JUH general secretary demanded the Home ministry revoke AFSPA form residential areas of the Kashmir and withdraw forces deputed in the villages.

Reacting to the inquiry commission constituted for the incident, Maulana said such commission has lost its meaning in the valley so the ministry rather take immediate cognizance of the crisis and deal with iron hand with those who are responsible for bloodbath and cruelty on innocent Kashmiris.

Conveying his condolence to those killed and calling prayers for those injured Maulana Madani expressed solidarity with people of Kashmir and called for restraint.
