Shimla : Himachal Pradesh was thrice hit by light intensity quakes in less than 12 hours, an official said Wednesday. There was no loss of life.
An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 5.34 p.m. Tuesday, the Meteorological Office told IANS.
Another earthquake (3.7 on Richter scale) followed at 11.56 p.m. and the third, also of the same intensity, was recorded at 5.26 a.m. Wednesday.
The epicentre of all the quakes was on the border of districts of Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti, bordering Jammu and Kashmir.
