Hyderabad : Syed Khaja is now a worried man, he thought police will return his youngest son Syed Adnan Ahmed after some questioning, but 48 hours has passed since his detention by Cyberabad Special Operation force, but family doesn’t have any clue about Adnan whereabouts.
If the illegal detention of his young was not enough, yesterday police for whole day interrogated his eldest son Nayeemuddin who is also an accused in 2002 Sai Baba Mandir blast case which is dragging on for last ten years.
Addressing a press conference at his residence at Syedabad, Syed Khaja said he worries for the life of his young son. “I though police would release him after some interrogation, but since past two days police kept him in illegal custody, by not informing us about his whereabouts,” said Syed Khaja.
Family of Adnan has written a letter to State Human Rights Commission, Chief Justice of High court and even to the commissioner of police demanding their son back. City Police is not acknowledging arrest of Adnan Ahmed even though many people saw civil dressed police officers taking him away in Tata sumo car without a number plate at Chaderghat Bridge 3k.m. away from his house.
Meanwhile other youth of old city, Mechanical engineering student Syed Safiuddin who was arrested from his institute at Banjara hills yesterday evening, is now released. He also spent nearly 24 hours in police detention.
In another major development two more youths were picked up by Hyderabad police yesterday midnight. Hafeez Abrar resident of Syedabad, and Syed Zaid of Baba nagar became the fresh target of city investigation teams.
While Abrar was arrested from his house, Zaid was arrested from Ameerpet locality where he went to meet his grandmother. The modus operandi of police in both the arrests or abduction were same, cops in plain clothes in a Tata sumo without any number plate taken both of them forcefully into their car and speed away.
Experts on Hyderabad Police investigative methods believe that there could be two reasons behind Hyderabad police covert arrest operations. First possibility is they can be repeating Mecca Masjid blast investigation model, where they cooked a conspiracy case and arrested scores of youths, but deceived general public by making them believe that arrest were regarding masjid blast investigation.
Or second possibility is, NIA who got the custody of Syed Maqbool from Delhi’s Tihar jail might be bringing him to Hyderabad. As media has already presented Maqbool as mastermind basing on his ‘confession’ statement given to Delhi police in October last year, NIA would follow the maqbool angel safely. So it might have ordered Hyderabad police to pick up youths who made even remote connection to Maqbool, so a local terrorist gang could be presented who had done a recce of dilsukanagar. By this move NIA can satisfy public outcry of swift investigation in the Dilsuknagar blasts.
