In a related development, Kamta Pal, the prime accused in the murder of village head Nanhe Yadav, surrendered at the camp office of the CBI in Pratapgarh, along with his son Ajay.

The weapon was recovered from a field in Walipur village in Pratapgarh, CBI officials told IANS.

“The revolver has been sent for forensic scrutiny,” an official said, adding this would let them know if Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haq was shot dead by his pistol or some other weapon.

The CBI team is meanwhile also pouring through call records of the accused, including that of former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiya, sources said.

Meanwhile the two accused close associates of the former minister, Guddu Singh and Rajeev Singh have refused to get a narco test conducted on themselves, as sought by the investigative agency.
