Sharjah: As part of its plans to ensure a safe road infrastructure, the Sharjah public works department will build three pedestrian bridges on different sites in Sharjah at a cost of 11 million Dirhams (about $3 milion).
Sites of the bridges had been determined based on traffic studies and after taking statistics taking into consideration along with demographic density and mobility, availability of major retail outlets and companies, and areas which saw high occurrence of traffic accidents, said Mohsen Balwan, head of traffic engineering.
