Man arrested in Bengal for theft in Delhi

New Delhi: A 23-year-old man employed as an accountant in Malaysia was arrested from West Bengal for committing a theft at a friend’s place in Delhi, police said Saturday.

“Saurabh Mitra was arrested from his native place at Taherpur area in West Bengal Friday. He had stolen a laptop and two mobile phones of his friend when he stayed at his house in Vasant Vihar in south Delhi,” said a police officer.

Earlier this month, Mitra came to Delhi from Malaysia. On March 12, in the absence of his friend, he stole valuable articles and escaped to West Bengal, police said.

“The stolen valuables have been recovered from his possession,” said an officer.
