Job fair in AMU gets a big recruitment bonanza

Aligarh: A record number of fifty companies visited the Aligarh Muslim University for the campus placement of the students from non-technical courses. A large number of students were selected ruing the campus placement drive making the total number of selection 550.

The Training and Placement Officer (General), Mr. Saad Hameed said that the students of BA, B. Com. and B. Sc. participated in the selection process and went through a hectic recruitment process. The students were also given training on how to face the job interviews in order to ensure maximum selection.

Mr. Hameed said that the companies included Viacom-18, GE Capital, Wipro, Genpact, ICICI and Asian Paints. They offered the students a package of 4 Lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum. He said that the Job Fair was also organized for the first time in AMU to ensure maximum placement opportunities at a time at a single place.

He said that the campus placement drives have sent a sense of confidence amongst the non-technical graduates of the university and they feel proud of their choice of course as they were successful in securing a job before even getting their results in hand.

Mr. Hameed said that it were the initiatives on the part of the AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah who extended all help and support to organized the Job Fair. His emphasis on organizing campus placement drives for the students played a key role in putting such successful recruitment drives in action.
