New Delhi: Brinda Karat, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and CPIM Polit Bureau Member will launch a Book “Pervasive Exclusion and Challenge of Inclusion: Gender Patterns in South & Central Asia” written by Dr. Sabiha Hussain.
Brinda Karat shall also deliver the Valedictory Address to the participants of Orientation Course for College & University faculty organized by the Academic Staff College, Jamia Millia Islamia.
This book is an outcome of the papers presented in an International Conference on Gender Equity and Exclusion in South and central Asia, organized by Dr.KR Narayanan Centre for Dalit and Minorities Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata and Initiatives for Women’s Development, Chennai. Contributors of this book are from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
All articles in this book focus on the gender issues in South Asia which represent a complex challenge. All are cordially invited.
The book launch function is scheduled to be held today i.e. November 20, 2013 at 3 PM in the Red Hall, Academic Staff College, Jamia Millia Islamia.
