New Delhi: Over 20,000 electronic voting machines (EVMs) used in the Delhi poll Thursday will be kept under the strict watch of paramilitary forces till May 16, when counting is scheduled to take place, officials said Thursday.
“A total of 21,967 EVMs have been kept in seven counting centers, one in each parliamentary constituency, under the scrutiny of paramilitary forces,” said Chief Electoral Officer, Vijay Dev.
He added that the voting machines will be kept sealed till counting day, May 16.
A total of 150 candidates including 57 independents contested for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi which saw a massive turnout. At 64.77 percent, the turnout was the highest in three decades.
