Abuja : Pakistani president Mamnoon Hussain has indefinitely postponed a three-day official visit to Nigeria, citing some pressing concerns in his country, officials said Monday.
Hussain’s visit was initially billed to begin Monday, but embassy officials in Nigeria said the Pakistani leader, while seeking to postpone the visit, did not actually give details of the “pressing concerns” that affected the long scheduled trip to Nigeria.
“The visit of the president to Nigeria has been postponed. We shall use our diplomatic channel to agree on a new date,” said Ahmed Sirohey, Pakistan deputy high commissioner to Nigeria.
The trade relations between Pakistan and Nigeria have improved considerably. The total volume of trade between the two countries almost doubled recently from earlier $30.67 millions in 2011-2012 to 67.361 million in 2012-2013.
