Varanasi : The BJP’s national president Amit Shah Wednesday inaugurated the public relations office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Shah said he was honoured to inaugurate the office, which he added would act as a bridge between the people of Varanasi and their MP Narendra Modi.
“I am aware of the plans Modi-ji has for Kashi but I will neither announce them here nor discuss them. All I can say is that after five years, the visitors coming here will see Varanasi with awe and admiration,” Shah said while recalling the developmental work done by Modi in Maninagar in Gujarat from where he was a BJP legislator for long.
He added that even Modi had not gauged the changes in Maninagar till someone showed him a film on what the city was earlier and after the development.
Seeking participation of the people of Varanasi in making the city cleaner, the BJP president also informed them of a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi recently about the blue print for development of Varanasi.
Thanking the people for their support in the Lok Sabha elections, Shah said their faith would be reciprocated by comprehensive development and welfare measures.
The 5,000-square-feet office in Ravindrapuri is being touted as a ‘mini PMO’ by locals who are excited that they would now get to petition the PM directly through this office, and hopefully will get their problems sorted out.
An office bearer of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Shiv Charan Pathak has been entrusted with the task of running the hi-tech office.
