New Delhi : An electronic art catalogue, designed as a photo album of over 113 photographs and paintings, is all set to offer a glimpse into the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s art heritage from Thursday.
President Pranab Mukherjee, on his birthday (Dec 11), will unveil the e-art catalogue titled “Art Heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan: A Selection” on the website www.presidentofindia.nic.in., an official statement said Tuesday.
Venu Rajamony, the press secretary to the president, and Ruchi Kumar, research assistant, National Gallery of Modern Art, have curated this catalogue, containing over 113 high quality photographs of paintings and select art objects from the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s collection.
“Visitors are able to see only a limited part of the entire collection. Moreover, the location of the paintings, lighting, distance from the viewers makes it difficult for casual visitors to study and fully appreciate the paintings, the statement said.
The catalogue will also enable viewers enlarge the paintings as well as zoom in to see the details in a manner far superior to viewing with the naked eye
