‘Lest we forget’: Babri demolition day remembered in Saudi

Dammam (Saudi Arabia): The India Fraternity Forum’s (IFF) Urdu Chapter, conducted a public program on December 6 here with an objective of creating awareness about and remembering the demolition of Babri Masjid at Ayodhya in India on December 6, 1992.

Abdul Mujeeb, one of the well-known social activists in eastern region was the chief guest of the programme and Moulavi Murshid from World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) was the guest of honor at the program.

Chief guest Mujeeb spoke about the current scenario of the demolished Babri Masjid and the politics surrounding the issue. Moulavi Murshid spoke on the condition of Muslims in India and the Indian democracy.

Muhammad Amir Qasmi delivered a detailed keynote speech about Babar and the Babri Masjid, the issue and impact on Indian Muslims and the future. “The Fascism has become a mindset, which is being spread among the citizens to divide the country communally and spread the hatred among the communities and general public,” he said and added, he also stressed on the need for unity among the community. He also said that we Indians must adhere to our constitution and said that we Muslims in India expect Justice from the Judiciary, a release from IFF said.

Br Muhammad Amir Qasmi (Secretary IFF, Urdu Chapter, Eastern Province) spoke about the history of Babri Masjid. Sohrab Ahmed (in-charge, community welfare development, Eastern Province), welcomed the guests and introduced about the India Fraternity Forum (IFF) and its social activities to the audience.

Muhammad Luqman (president IFF, Urdu Chapter, Dammam) concluded the programme, which ended with a vote of thanks by Mohamad Afzal. Earlier, the programme had started with Quran recitation by Muhmmad Imran.

Muhammad Luqman concluded the program: “The Masjid is a place of worship. Babri Masjid is not an issue for Indian Muslims only, but it belongs to all the believers around the globe.”

Mohammad Afzal thanked the guests and the attendees at the program, the release from IFF said.
