New Delhi : The Trinamool Congress Tuesday raised the issue of CBI probe into the Saradha scam in West Bengal in the Lok Sabha once again and accused the central government of misusing the investigation agency.
As soon as the house met for the day, TMC members moved an adjournment motion on the issue which was dismissed by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
The parliamentarians then went near the speaker’s podium and shouted slogans against the government.
Soon the Trinamool members staged a walkout.
Later, when the zero hour began, party member Saugata Roy raised the issue again.
“The central government has been determined to weaken the federal structure of the constitution through its acts of omissions and commissions,” he said.
For states like West Bengal, even funds for the national rural guarantee act have been withheld, he claimed.
He said: “The CBI investigation into the Saradha scam is being politically manipulated to target the TMC in West Bengal.”
The party raised the issue in the Lok Sabha Monday as well.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested West Bengal Sports and Transport Minister Madan Mitra Friday for his involvement in the Saradha scam.
