Ranji: Tamil Nadu beat J&K, UP’s Mishra floors Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi : Tamil Nadu scored an emphatic 277-run victory over visitors Jammu and Kashmir in Dindgul on the third day of the Ranji Trophy match while medium pacer Amit Mishra’s six-wicket haul helped Uttar Pradesh bowl out Madhya Pradesh for 63 runs in their second innings in Indore Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu, after declaring their second innings at 286 for five courtesy left-hander Abhinav Mukund’s century (137), trampled the Jammu and Kashmir batting line up. J&K were bowled out for 131 as left-arm spinner Aushik Srinivas took five wickets for 12 runs and left-arm spinner Rahil Shah had figures of three for 64.

In Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium, Uttar Pradesh, after being bowled out for 180, dismissed Madhya Pradesh for a paltry total of 63 thanks to Mishra’s magical spell of six for 26. The visitors reached 82 for four at the close of play and require 98 runs to win the match.

At the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Bengal were made to follow on after being bundled out for 251 chasing Karnataka’s first innings score of 408. Shreevats Goswami’s 68 aided Bengal in getting to the score, while medium pacers Vinay Kumar and Sreenath Arvind took three wickets each to help the away side restrict Bengal. The hosts are 46 for one at close of play and they are still 111 runs behind.
