New Delhi : It was a cold and foggy Monday morning in the national capital with the visibility dropping to less than 100 metres, delaying 78 trains.
The Met Office, however, forecast a clear day ahead.
The minimum temperature settled at 4.8 degrees Celsius, three levels below the season’s average.
“There was dense fog in the morning and the visibility was less than 100 metres at 8.30 a.m.,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
According to the Northern Railway, 78 trains coming into the city were delayed while 20 trains departing from Delhi were rescheduled.
The day’s maximum temperature is likely to hover around 19 degree Celsius.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 100 percent.
Sunday saw the season’s coldest day at 2.6 degrees Celsius, five notches below average accompanied by dense fog. The maximum temperature was recorded at 18.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average.
