Gulbarga: Right to education awareness campaign was organised by Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) Gulbarga city. The main objective of the campaign was to bring awareness among the masses regarding benefits provided to poor people, weaker section & disadvantaged group under right to education(RTE) act, especially regarding free 25% seats (pre-school or 1st std) reserved for these children in private schools.
Various activities were taken up to bring awareness in general public. Handbills were distributed, announcement were done in almost 40 (forty) mosques, field work was carried out in Shaik Roza area to guide needy people, posters were used and street play was organised in a slum near MSK mill area.
Also, public was guided about admission process through these activities. Social networking sites were also used for this purpose at individual level. Also, More than 120 people enquired about RTE through helpline numbers provided by SIO Gulbarga in handbills and posters.
