In a statement issued here, JICA said it has signed an agreement with the Indian government to provide aid for building an out patient facility at the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children (ICH) here.

According to JICA, the project is envisaged to largely contribute to the quality improvement of health care services in south India, and especially for children in low-income groups.

Commonly known as the children’s hospital, ICH is a top referral hospital in the entire south India and offers free medicial services to poor.

The Japanese grant would be used for constructing a user friendly building that will minimise movement of both patients and medical personnel.
