Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh is set to be split into two states in June and simultaneous elections to the state assembly and the Lok Sabha are scheduled to be held in the state April 30 and May 7.

The PRP later merged with the Congress. Resignations, by-elections and floating of YSR Congress by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy changed the equations in the assembly. YSR Congress also wrested two Lok Sabha seats from the Congress.
