New Delhi: On the occasion of “Prakash Utsav” of Guru Nanak, members of the Muslim and Dalit community celebrated the spirit of harmony and brotherhood with Sikh brethren. Fruits were distribution in the Peace procession of “Nagar Kirtan” on 5 November, 2014. It was jointly organized by INSAF, SDPI and United Sikh Mission.
Huge gatherings were seen in the processing which set off from Chandni Chowk, moved through Pul Bangash area and culminated at Gurudwara, Azadpur.
Aslam said SDPI is actively working to establish peace and harmony among different communities. He said that it’s all about believing in monotheism, believing in one God but the way of worship is different. There is no point in entertaining conflicts or disputes when we hold and practice a common faith in different ways.
Addressing the media persons United Sikh Mission convener Harminder Singh said INSAF, SDPI, and BAMCEF have taken initiatives in bringing up peace and harmony in several sensitive areas of Delhi and UP which were targeted by communal elements with evil plans. He added that a few months ago USM and NCHRO have formed Peace Mission which would address the issues of riot victims and extend legal aid and monetary assistance.
During the last Holy month of Ramdan, the Sikh Youth Forum of Delhi had organized “Iftar” at several places in the State with the pure intent of promoting the brotherhood with the Muslim community.
Those present during the procession included Convener of INSAF Dr. Rahul, SDPI President of Delhi unit Advocate Aslam Ahmed, Convener United Sikh Mission Harminder Singh and a number of Cadres of SDPI including Mohammed Jabir, Muslehuddin Mirza, Mohammed Sameer, Vakeel Johree, Haji Noor and others.
