Mumbai: Jamaat e Islami Hind (Maharashtra) is organizing 10 days state wide campaign “Maharashtra Ka Vikas Nyay aur Sadbhavna Ke Saath” (Mahrashtra’s Development with justice and harmony) from 12th to 21st September 2014 before the ensuing Assembly polls that will take place on 15 October 2014.
Jamaat aims to reach out to at least 6 crore voters through various means including door to door campaigning, individual, group and corner meetings, symposium, rallies and tours of nearly 33 districts by the state leadership of Jamaat with likeminded peoples and organizations.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind feels that political parties are claiming to work for Development and Ache Din but its benefits is not reaching the poor, in fact the gap between the poor and rich is widening.
Corruption and Inflation is another threats to our economy and to our society as a Whole. Maharashtra has seen Irrigation scam, Fodder Scam in Ahmednagar. Despite financial packages by the Central and State government, Farmers especially in Vidarbha are still committing suicides.
Maharashtra has witnessed maximum Communal violence in the last decades that divides our society caused loss of life and hurts the economy. Despite most Industrialised State Maharashtra tops the chart of Unemployment rate of 4.5%. for the people of Maharashtra.
Considering the situation, Jamaat e Islami Hind Maharashtra has brought out a Peoples’ Manifesto that includes a list of objectives for the government that comes to power in Maharashtra.
Manifesto includes the issues of farmers’ suicide, inflation and corruption, communal harmony, education and social justice.
It calls for requisite powers to the Lokayukts, Implementation of Dr.Narendra Jadhav Report on farmers’ suicide. Free Education from KG to PG, Appointment of Protection Officers at Taluka Level as provided by the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
MNREGA for 365 days, help unorganized sector and special packages for powerloom industry Development of Bhiwandi, Malegaon as the textile hubs. Implementation of the recommendations of Mehmood ur Rehman Study Group some of which are listed below namely:
· Minimum 8 % reservation in government jobs, colleges & housing.
· Establish Equal Opportunity Commission, Communal violence Bill.
· Expansion of OBC list to include extremely deprived Muslims
· Compulsory inclusion of Muslims in recruitment committees
