Launching a scathing attack on the BJP over the activties of separatist leader Masrat Alam, who publicly waved the Pakistani flag in Jammu and Kashmir on April 15, Nitish Kumar told media here that “BJP was greedy of power.”

“The BJP has the single agenda to be in power by doing anything, even to compromise with the national interests as it was exposed in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The chief minister also said: “The BJP is in power in Jammu and Kashmir, it has been running the government, but Pakistani flags were waved there.”

“Whatever has not happened ever has taken place under the BJP rule in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The chief minister said what shocked the people was that anti-Indian activities were taking place in Jammu and Kashmir despite the BJP being in power both in the state and at the Centre.

On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir authorities placed hardline separatist leaders Syed Ali Geelani and Masrat Alam under house arrest to prevent them from participating in a rally on Friday called by the separatists in Kashmir’s Tral town.
