New Delhi: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has declared of waging a movement in order to save religion of people and the constitution of India that it believes is under threat due to growing intolerance towards minorities in India.

The Board considers pluralism of India with regards with different religion, culture and languages is regularly attacked ever since emergence of the new government and there is a need of mass awakening to realize eminent attack on their rights by the communal forces.

Surya Namasakar is made compulsory; Muslims are compelled to sing Vande mataram and the school books are changed to include one particular religion’s history or eulogy, Board says in its statement adding,” The claims are being made to convert all Muslims into Hinduism to make India as a Hindu Rashtra by 2020, this is a major indication that one is in dire need to save his religion and the present constitution of India”.

In past one and half years Indian Muslims along with Christians and other minorities have been routinely attacked by the radical mindset Hindus. There have been several incidences of hate speeches by ruling party leaders, Sadhvis and other radical outfit bosses.

“The constitution of India provides rights to all the people to practice and propagate his religion but direct attacks are being made on individual choices in regards with religion and one particular ideology is being forced on all people, there by destroying the multi culture India was enjoying since Independence,” the board added.

Board is under the apprehension that as the government is bringing in range of laws and attempts have been made to interfere in the functioning of madrassas and Masjids, the government might also dislodge the board by introducing any law that may make board insignificant.

It appeals to the Muslims to stick to their religion and not to allow any kind interference direct or indirect in their religious affairs by any authority and not to bow down to the government if it tries to snatch their fundamental rights of professing individual religion.

It also says secularism is the backbone of the pluralism in India that is under the danger by the growing attacks on the minorities.

“As a start of movement we will organize seminars and symposiums all over the country in different cities and centres and would urge people to contribute in strengthening secular aspects of the country and to uphold the present constitution”, Board says in its statement.

The board is also meant to gather support for the movement from other minority organizations and secular-minded people asking them to join in order to raise voices against oppression of minorities and provide voices to the oppressed section of the society.
