Islamabad / Karachi: Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani MNA has termed the death of former acting Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (R)Rana Bhagwandas as great tragedy for Pakistan.
Former acting chief justice Rana Bhagwandas passed away in Karachi on Monday. The 73-year-old former judge was under treatment for a heart ailment at a private hospital at the time of his passing. He was the first Hindu and the second non-Muslim head of Pakistan’s judiciary and had been a Supreme Court judge.
Talking to media after attending the funeral of Rana Bhagwandas, in Karachi, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani said that Hindu community was in shock to know that Rana Bhagwandas is no more with them. He also paid rich tribute to the departed soul, saying that honest personality like him is, no doubt, a role model for the nation. Dr. Ramesh assured to carry on his positive mission to serve the people.
He also recalled the moments spent with Rana Bhagwandas, mentioning that all the political parties were agreed for the appointment of Rana Bhagwandas, as Chief Election Commissioner. “Compromise on principles was not possible for a positive personality like Rana Bhagwandas,” he emphasized.
He also announced to continue the positive mission of Rana Bhagwan Das, for the betterment of society.
