“Looking back, people with different religious beliefs had lived together in the country. Kerala was the best example for religious harmony as all the people had lived together as one. However, now there are deliberate moves to scuttle this unity. These moves are intended only for political gains. This is a dangerous situation,” he said.

“Many matters, including issues between Islamic outfits, are coming up before the Waqf Board. The Waqf Board has got the right person, Panakkad Syed Rasheedali Shihab Thangal, as the chairman of the board,” Kunhalikutty said.

Organising committee chairman P V Gangadharan presided over the meeting. Earlier, P K Kunhalikutty handed over a memento to Thangal. Social Justice Minister M K Muneer, Ummer Master MLA, C Moyinkutty MLA, former minister P K K Bava, Kerala Hajj Committee chairman Kottumala Bappu Musliar, DCC president K C Abu and others attended the function.
