Mamata government compromised Amit Shah’s security: BJP

Burdwan : The BJP’s West Bengal unit Tuesday accused the Mamata Banerjee government of compromising the security of BJP president Amit Shah by withdrawing a pilot car while he was on his way to address a party rally in Burdwan district.

Addressing a public meet at the Chowringhee Club playground here, state Bharatiya Janata Party president Rahul Sinha alleged that the Trinamool Congress government intentionally ordered the withdrawal of a pilot car from the convoy of Shah who has been accorded ‘Z-plus’ category security.

“When Shah’s convoy was coming here, suddenly I noticed the pilot car was missing. When I enquired about it, I was told that it has been withdrawn by the state government,” Sinha said.

Charging the Banerjee government of being “narrow minded”, Sinha said the Trinamool was on its way out of power from the state.

“You can withdraw the pilot (car) from Amit Shah’s security, but you cannot stop the pilot, who is taking this government on its way out.

“By withdrawing a pilot car, the Trinamool can’t prevent the BJP’s pilot project of 2016 (coming to power in Bengal) because the people of Bengal have embraced BJP,” he said.

“This only reflects the narrow-mindedness of this government. But, I want to tell the chief minister that you won’t be able to do this for long. Come 2016, and under your nose, you will see pilot cars zooming past you,” Sinha added.
