“This event is a cause based event, whole idea behind organizing this event is to identify and felicitate our unsung young heroes in the age group of 18- 30 , whose efforts have had an overwhelming effect on the youth and about promoting tourism of Jammu and Kashmir,” Idrees said.
The Youth Icon Award is first of its kind to be organised by a non-government organisation in Kashmir which aims at motivating and channelizing the energy of youth in positive direction. The event is supposed to be attended by dignitaries within and outside the state.
“We are expecting honorable Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, some cabinet ministers and Bollywood stars for this event as the guests. It is about throwing light on something good within our society which may inspire our youth and attract them to follow the path leading to a society whose members are full of confidence with a well-defined goal,” Idrees said, further adding, “This event will also boost the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir, as its aim is to attract the out of station persons also.”
JKIF has decided to donate half of the money to be generated from sale of tickets to a patient who has been diagnosed with cancer.
“Early this week we have also received a request from a person who hails from Uri, Baramullah and is not in a financial position to get the treatment for his son who is diagnosed with cancer, and have to be taken to Gujarat. So we have decided that half of the money generated from the sale of tickets would be given to him and we would also think about other avenues by which the money needed for his treatment could be arranged,” claimed Idrees.
JKIF, registered as a subsidiary for SRVES (Social Royal Voluntary Environmental Service), has organized several successful state level programmes in the past. SRVES is a registered state wide trust which aims to provide impetus to the young minds, who lack the infrastructure and right platform, & are at a verge of dissemination to other fellow countries.
