Anjuman-e-Haideri condemns Paris attack, says will increase measures to counter IS propaganda

New Delhi: Joining a host of other Muslim organisations in condemning the Paris attacks, Anjuman-e-Haideri said the Paris attacks were a reminder that humanity has been passing through a very tough time due to the terror acts of the Islamic State. Maulana Kalbe Jawad, General Secretary, AEH, said. “The recent ghastly and inhuman attacks on innocent people in Paris give one more wake up call to the civilised and democratic minds of the world to realise that more needs to be done to contain and decimate the barbaric terrorist organisations like Islamic State.”

It was painful to see the silence in the western world while IS terrorists have been killing dozens of innocent people in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Libya and elsewhere every day, he added.
Jawad stressed on immediate attention to contain and exhaust the capacity of IS to influence and misguide vulnerable youth to join their ranks to perpetuate their nefarious designs. “Restricting the ability of Terrorists like IS to mislead vulnerable youth in the name of religion can be the biggest body blow to them. Since religion of Islam is being misused by the terrorists, therefore the biggest role and responsibility to counter the terrorist propaganda falls upon the Muslim community,” he said.

Bahadur Abbas Naqvi, general secretary of AEH, said his organisation was engaged in creating awareness against the spread of poisonous IS propaganda for last two years. Through its peaceful campaign against the IS killings in Iraq, AEH had registered over two hundred thousand volunteers for humanitarian services to the victims of IS terror acts in that country. He said that AEH had rang the alarm bell while IS had started their nefarious acts in Iraq and Syria.

As part of its ongoing campaign AEH had, in early October 2015, decided to observe December 3, 2015 as “Anti-Terrorism Day” on the occasion of Chehlum of Imam Husain (a.s.), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.a), wherein more than 200,000 people are likely to pass a resolution against terror of IS and it’s like and take a pledge to oppose terrorism through peaceful, legitimate and constitutional means, following the path of non-violence shown by Imam Husain (a.s.) and followed by Mahatma Gandhi. On that day, religious leaders of Sunni and Shia Muslims and prominent people from other faiths will join the pledge against terrorism.

Giving a roadmap of the AEH plans to create awareness against IS terrorists, Mr. Abbas said that after December 3, 2015, a series of public/social media campaign, demonstrations, seminars, street plays would be organised by AEH along with likeminded organisations cutting across religious and sectarian lines. The goal of the above campaign is to present a massive counter propaganda of IS and expose their real face and motives by approaching to one and all and create a mass movement for creating atmosphere against terrorism. An endeavour will also be made to approach and interact with each and every vulnerable mind to present the real face of the terrorism and protect them from being poisoned.
