Tehran : Iran’s special envoy submitted President Ahmadinejad’s condolence message for demise of Zambian president to the acting president of the country.
According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Wednesday, Mohammad Reza Baqeri, president special envoy and deputy Foreign Minister in African Affairs, who is in Lusaka to attend official funeral procession heading a high ranking delegation, met with acting President Rupeea Banda.
In the meeting, Baqeri also expressed Iran’s desire for expansion and deepening ties with Zambia in all fields.
Acting President Banda expressed his gratitude for President Ahmadinejad’s message and Iranian delegation presence in Lusaka and declared his country’s readiness for expansion of ties and cooperation with Iran.
Late President Levy Mwanawasa died in a Paris hospital last week, at the age 59, due to heart failure.
