Delhi assembly’s monsoon session begins

New Delhi : The three-day monsoon session of the Delhi assembly began here Wednesday with opposition lawmakers highlighting the shortage of electricity.

Electricity supplies woes were raised during the question hour on the first day of the assembly.

Delhi assembly’s opposition leader Jagdish Mukhi and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Harcharan Singh Balli, Harshvardhan, Sahib Singh Chauhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Vijay Jolly criticised state Power Minister A.K. Walia for frequent power cuts and heavy load shedding.

They said that the residents of Delhi are at the mercy of private power distribution companies.

The BJP leaders alleged that the Congress government has failed in its 10 years rule in the capital.
