The 23-year-old Bangalorean beat Devendra Joshi 2,370-2,020 in a six-hour final held in three sessions of two hours each here.

This is the second time he won both the formats. He first achieved the feat in Malta in 2005.

On Sep 5, Advani had beaten veteran Geet Sethi six to one to take home the point format trophy. He again defeated Sethi in the semi-final of the time format.

Advani was on a winning streak from the first session with a 1,274-151 lead over Joshi. In the second it was 1,812 for Advani to Joshi’s 1,033.

“I am thrilled,” Advani said. Joshi praised Advani saying he plays very well under pressure.
