Bhopal, Sep 14 (IANS) Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan here Sunday released the Madhya Pradesh High Court Rules 2008, brought out after 72 years.
“Wrong interpretation of rules leads to odd situations while correct interpretation greatly helps in setting things right,” said Justice Balakrishnan.
He honoured the members of the High Court Rules Committee in the presence of High Court Chief Justice A.K. Patnaik, senior judges and advocates at the National Judicial Academy.
Justice Balakrishnan expressed satisfaction over the new rules of the high court. “Judges and lawyers with long experience have put very hard work into framing these rules,” he noted.
Justice Patnaik spoke on the background of the new rules and said a need had been felt to frame the rules afresh in view of the difficulties being faced in various matters.
“It took the members two years to draft these rules and the input of the Bar was also taken in this,” he said.
