New Delhi : Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” Monday said there was no comparison between Kathmandu’s relationship with China and India.
“Relationship with India is cordial and vital,” Prachanda said in reply to a question from the audience after addressing representatives of various industry chambers here.
“There is no question of comparison between India and China,” he said, referring to what kind of relationship Nepal would like to have with the two neighbouring nations.
Maintaining that Nepal wished to grow and prosper along with India, Prachanda said business was an engine of growth, and that it would ensure peace and stability in his country through rapid progress in economic development.
In this connection, he invited Indian corporate houses to set up plants in Nepal where he said special economic zones could come up to “accelerate the process of inclusive economic development”.
“The primary objective of the government is to give a boost to the economy, which has remained sluggish due to the transitional process,” he said.
Regarding floods caused by the Kosi river in Bihar and Nepal, Prachanda said: “At the moment, we need to find a remedy to the problem and reconstruct (breached embankment)”.
