Washington : Pakistan and the United States will hold the third meeting of their strategic partnership dialogue here Monday, the State Department announced, calling the dialogue a symbol of U.S. commitment to long-term relationship with Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte will co-chair the third round of the dialogue, which takes place days after presidents of the two countries met in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and agreed to further consolidate wide-ranging ties.
“The Strategic Dialogue is a symbol of our commitment to a stable, broad-based and long-term relationship serving the interests of both the United States and Pakistan,” Spokesman Sean McCormack said in a statement.
The Strategic Dialogue’s working groups, education, economic growth, energy, science and technology, and the new agriculture working group, develop specific proposals for joint action by the U.S. and Pakistan to achieve our shared objectives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides will release a joint statement.
