Mumbai : HDFC Bank Thursday announced a net profit of Rs.5.29 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2008-09 against Rs.3.68 billion in the same period last year.
The total income increased to Rs.46.34 billion during the July-September period from Rs.28.45 billion of the year-ago period.
“The results for the quarter were not comparable with that of the corresponding period last year as the bank had merged with Centurion Bank of Punjab,” a bank statement said.
Shares of HDFC Bank closed at Rs.1,087.35, down by 4.15 percent on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
