CBI arrests two ASI officials while accepting bribe

New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two Bihar-based officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.90,000.

A contractor had alleged that superintending archaeologist Phani Kant Mishra and clerk Rajesh Kumar asked for Rs.90,000 to clear his first bill of Rs.850,000 for an enclosure wall around the Bahktiyar Khan Tomb in Sasaram.

The CBI laid a trap and both ASI officials were arrested in their office while accepting the bribe.
