began moving thousands of troops to the Indian border.

According to the GEO TV news agency, Singh held the meeting in his New Delhi office, in the presence of his National security advisor M.K. Narayanan.

Meanwhile Indian radio-TV channel (NDTV) reported the Pakistani army decided to cancel all leave orders, so all soldiers must remain on alert.

Relations between both countries have worsened since the November Mumbay attacks, which left about 200 deaths.

According to Indian authorities, the perpetrators were from Pakistan, whose authorities, they claim, acted with negligence regarding that action. New Delhi says the Mumbai terrorists were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant group widely believed created by Pakistani intelligence in the 1980s and used to fight Indian-rule in disputed Kashmir region.
