The additional Test will be held in Napier as the itinerary for the series was rescheduled.

Hamilton will now host the first Test from March 19 instead of March 26. Napier will hold the second Test from March 26 while Wellington will be the venue for the third Test from April 3.

The Test series will start a week earlier and NZC will have to reschedule the subsequent five-match ODI series, according to media reports here.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had wanted an extra Test to be included to help recover revenue lost from cancelled events.

The cash-rich BCCI reported a revenue loss of around $25 million from the two cancelled one-day games against England and the tour of Pakistan in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks.

India’s tour will begin with a Twenty20 international here March 6.
