Ghaziabad : Sachin, a 23-year-old son of senior Congress leader Vir Singh Chaudhary, has been shot dead here and former municipal councillor Sheel Goswami arrested for the murder, the police said Tuesday.
According to the police, a relative of Chaudhary was going in his car at 11 p.m. Monday when a tractor, run by Goswami, hit the vehicle, leading to an altercation between the two.
The relative reached Chaudhary’s home and told him about the accident and the altercation. An enraged Chaudhary along with Sachin and other family members went to Goswami’s home in Ashok Nagar to sort out the issue, the police said.
When they reached his house, Goswami fired at them and one of the bullets hit Sachin in his abdomen, according to the police.
Sachin was rushed to the Yashoda Hospital where he succumbed to injuries, they said. Goswami has been arrested.
