Indian Foreign Secretary, Shiv Shankar Menon (picture) met his Pakistan counterpart on the sidelines of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Standing Committee meeting in Colombo last evening.
In an informal meeting with the Indian media, Shiv Shanker Menon said that Pakistan has shown some forward movement in countering terrorism and some positive actions have been taken but they have a long way to go, All India Radio (AIR) reported.
He also said that we have no quarrels with the people of Pakistan but agreed that there has been a pause in all direct government to government contact.
He added that Pakistan is keen to get back to business as usual but the same is not possible in absence of concrete action by them.
According to him, Pakistan has said the right things but India will judge them by the actions on ground.
The talks otherwise, mostly covered larger and other regional and bilateral issues between the two countries.
He also stated that the Indian Foreign Minister and Home Minister have already said that they will respond to Pakistan’s query after filing the charge sheet in Mumbai case.
