Mumbai : Indian equities held on to their previous session’s gains Wednesday afternoon, with a key index ruling 1.25 percent higher about 30 minutes before the closing bell.
The 30-scrip Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex), which opened at 9,442.3 points, was trading at 9,589.6 points – a rise of 118.2 points or 1.25 percent from its previous close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 0.84 percent from its last close to rule at 2,963.3 points.
The BSE midcap index was ruling 0.41 percent higher, while the BSE smallcap index was up 0.08 percent.
