Balasinor : Keeping up his high-decible attack on the Congress, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday asked why the party-led government had not arrested those conspirators behind the 1999 airplane hijack.
Addressing a rally during the first leg of the poll campaign in Kheda district in central Gujarat, Modi replied to Congress leaders’ criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government’s handling of the hijack episode of 1999.
“In 1962, the Congress government at the centre slept while China attacked India. In 1947, the Congress allowed the partition of India on religious grounds,” he said.
He also recalled that the Congress government had allowed food to be passed on to five terrorists holed up inside the historic Charar-e-Sharif mosque in Jammu and Kashmir and later even ordered a safe passage for them, Modi said.
