According to Surendra Verma, superintendent of police (Greater Noida), two gangs active in the nearby area could be involved in the case.

“The police has suspicion on Sundar Bhati and Naresh Bhati gangs which are based out of Gaghola and Rithori villages – just near the Maycha village where the bullets were found,” Verma said.

“We suspect them as their villages are very near to the ammunition recovery site. They could have hidden the bullets out of fear of being caught in view of the elections. There could be no other person who could have done so and there is no reason for any one to have done this in such a manner,” Verma added.

The police had detained some members of the two gangs but they were released later.

On Wednesday, some fisherman of Maycha village under Dadri police station area recovered 119 bullets of 7.62 mm of AK-47 rifle when they were fishing in the pond.
