New Delhi : The Supreme Court Thursday ordered the Nizam Medical Institute of Hyderabad to pay Rs.10 million to a victim of negligence by its staff.
A bench of Justice B.N. Agrawal ordered the compensation for Prashanth S. Dhananka, an Infosys software engineer working in Bangalore, who had been paralysed waist downwards owing to medical negligence during his treatment at the institute.
The bench had reserved its verdict on Sep 17, 2008 after hearing arguments from the two sides.
