Bangalore : With the Karnataka results out, the young voters of India’s IT hub are impatient to see the winning candidates work for the overall development of the city.
Of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, three are in the capital – Bangalore Central, Bangalore South and Bangalore North. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has swept the Lok Sabha polls in Bangalore.
“I wish that all the winning candidates, especially the three from Bangalore, should immediately start working for the overall development of the city,” Pradip Hedge, a first time voter and college student, told IANS.
Echoing Hegde, IT professional Suvarna P. said that now the winners should immediately start working for the progress of the city.
“Bangalore is reeling due to the effects of the economic meltdown. Because of the recession jobs of people are at stake. Infrastructure is also in shambles. The winners have a lot of work on hand. We want the new parliamentarians from the city to start their work soon,” said Suvarna.
Bangalore Central was won by BJP’s P.C. Mohan by 35,218 votes. BJP’s H.N. Anantha Kumar won the Bangalore South constituency for the fifth time at a stretch. He defeated Krishna Byre Gowda of Congress by 37,612 votes.
Bangalore North again saw BJP’s D.B. Chandre Gowda win by 59,700 votes over C.K. Jaffer Sharief of Congress.
