Islamabad : At least five militants were killed and over ten others were wounded in two US missile strikes in a Pakistani tribal agency along Afghan border on Wednesday, said sources. Security sources told KUNA that at least two missiles were fired by an unmanned US drone that hit a training camp of Baitullah Mehsud in South Waziristan tribal agency. They said the attack killed at least five militants and wounded over ten others. However, tribal sources said that more than ten militants were killed. They said the killed including Punjabis and foreign militants. This was the fourth strike targeting Baitullah Mehsuds training camps and hideouts in the agency amid Pakistani security forces are combing the area to arrest him dead or alive.
Baitullah Mehsud heads the Pakistan Taliban and is accused to masterminding suicide attacks across the country at the behest of some foreign anti-state elements. Earlier sources had revealed to KUNA that the intelligence for drone attacks, targeting Baitullah hideouts in South Waziristan, is being provided by Pakistan itself.
