MCOCA court judge gets threat calls, security stepped up

Mumbai: The security of the special MCOCA court judge Y D Shinde was stepped up after he wrote a letter to the police on Thursday that he received threat calls from unknown person.

According to the media reports, Mumbai police chief D Sivanandan confirmed that Shinde got threats on phone made from a PCO. He also said that a team of city crime branch police and Marine Drive police has been constituted to jointly investigate as to who made the all and from where.

Shinde has been handling at least half a dozen sensitive cases including Malegaon 2008 blasts and Mumbai trains blasts.

He had recently rejected the bail application of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the key accused in the Malegaon 08 blasts.
