Chandigarh : Former Punjab deputy chief minister and Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal was Thursday leading over his Congress rival by nearly 60,000 votes in the Jalalabad assembly seat. The ruling Akali Dal won the other two other assembly by-elections held in the state Monday.
Akali Dal candidate Jasjit Singh Bunny won the Banur assembly seat in the Mohali district by-poll by nearly 20,000 votes while Sewa Singh Sekhwan of the same party won by over 12,000 votes from the Kahnuwan assembly seat in Gurdaspur district.
