They have sent a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Ghandhi, Union Home Miister P Chidambaram and Minister for Minority Affairs Salman Khursheed, urging them to consider the case.

On September 8, 2006 immediately after Juma prayer serial bomb blasts occurred in Bada Qabristan and Mushwarat Chowk of Malegaon on the occasion of Shab-e-Br’at which killed 31 and injured above 300 people.

After the blasts ATS arrested several Muslim youths and charged them under MCOCA. During these three years the accused have alleged police of torturing and harassing them badly in the cell.

The arrested youths of Malegaon are Shabbir Ahmad Masihullah, Raees Ahmad Rajab Ali,Dr. Frogh Makhdoomi Iqbal Ahmad, Muhammad Zahid Abdul Majeed, Dr. Salman Farsi, Noorul Hoda, Shamshu Zuha, Abrar Ahmad Ghulam Ahmad, Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Ali and Asif Bashir Khan.

Malegaon Kul Jamati Tanzeen has handed over a 300 pages report to CBI with the several evidences to probe innocence of arrested Muslim youths but no progress was seen in the case so far.

It is to be noted that in June 2009 a delegation of the wives of these accused met Home minister P Chidambaram and urged him to direct the CBI to immediately submit the report in the case so that innocents could come out of torture cell. Home minister has promised them that CBI would present report in the case within a week but unfortunately it did not happen so far.

Now when a Mumbai sessions court has ordered to drop MCOCA from Sadhvi Pragya Singh, Colonel Pruhit and other accused in the September 2008 Malegaon blast, the wives of the September 2006 Malegaon blast accused have repeated their demand to drop MCOCA from their husbands and release them.

In the letter they expressed their concern over delay in CBI report and appealed to order CBI, which is investigating in 06 blast case, to submit its report without any delay.

“After 2008 Malegoan blast the ATS team led by slain chief Hemant Karkare exposed the hidden face of the Hindu terrorists and arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt. Col. Prasad Pruhit and other accused belonging to a Hindu radical group, Abhinav Bharat. The ATS has also linked the Abhinav Bharat with the 2006 Malegaon blast. On the basis of that proof MCOCA should have been dropped from our husband and they should have been released long ago but they are in the jail since last three years and yet to get any judgment while MCOCA has been dropped from Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and her co-associates within 10 months” the letter read.
